Vivid switched its lights on this weekend and boy was bright!
This year we opted a different way to see the lights than our usual Quay walk, instead we went with a very glam method of transport, a BOAT! Why not make the most of what our city has to offer right?!
We boarded at the infamous King Street Wharf, crew greeted us on arrival made and even served us with a glass of bubbly.
Found ourselves a comfy spot, placed our belongings is a safe spot and got excited for the 2 hours relax time ahead!
First we cruised passed the newly built Barangaroo, gosh those 3 towers look special from out on the water – and hats off to the entire new precinct of Barangaroo, what a great architectural and food lover hub!
We then turned right and headed for the Harbour Bridge, I think almost every passenger was on hanging off the foredeck managing the perfect instagram worthy shot 🙂
The crew on board were really attentive, topping up our drinks and making sure we were all comfortable 🙂 we slowly cruised around the Quay long enough to devour in the canapés being served, pea risotto in little noodle boxes and yummy barramundi and chips! Oh and more wine of course!
We then cruised past the lovely Botanical Gardens that looked like a scene out of Avatar, super lighting effects – VIVID is really getting better each year!
Past the Eastern suburb abodes and over towards Taronga Zoo – another perfect photo opportunity, The Harbour Bridge and Opera House in line with the city skyline, just bliss!
Dessert was served while cruising past Luna Park! The famous face had coloured teeth in honor of the VIVID Festival – really cool!
We said goodbye to our boat adventure back over at King Street Wharf 2.5hrs later, full tummy and happy feet! Overall a 10/10 to VIVID and a 10/10 for deciding on a boat! Here’s to another great cruise next year…
